Hi all,
I have a canon digital slr camera. Its the rebel xsi. I have a zoom lens and a standard lens that comes with it.

Keep in mind he is also that I purchased the Canon EF50mm/1.8f - super cheap lens - on a whim right before my last trip.
EXIF data on those photos he is using a Canon 7D and the 10-20mm lens.

I bought my T2i 3 yrs ago this month of year. At time, the T2i seems to be the state of the art for this class. Prior to its arrival, I did window shopping for T1i, Nikon D90, Panny GH1, Samsung NX10. When the T2i came out, I paid for it full price.

Canon lens are mediocre when compare against Nikon consequence of DLO means that Canon must be putting work into profiling their lens.

After all is said and done you will spend anywhere from 1/10th to 1/50th
the price-photography when using normal macro or tele-macro lens arrangements.

My wife has a canon xsi with the kit 18-55 a 55-250 and a 50 1.8
She wants something new but will never spend the money herself (hey - life is short)

The 24-105 may be a 'kit' lens compromises, ....
As much as I dont want to take, then the 18-55 and 55-250 won't be usable on it as those are EF-S lenses.
5D2/24-105 is definitely a nice kit.
lens for general purpose shooting.

The 7D camera is IMO the best crop lens camera on the market but like all DLSR's the lens makes allThe L-Series ....
I use a 7D and love the camera, I did have the 70-300 lens when I had my XSI.
Options out there.

I want to get a decent DSLR with a nice lens and don't really care if it's a few years old.
I thought maybe a Canon EOS 400D Digital Rebel XTi as I can pick one up in the UK for approx £150 ex lens. Or something similar, I am asking the forum if any other...

For Canon lenses the only general purpose lens that I think you will be able a Canon, Nikon or Sony 50mm f/1.8 as well, all cheap as dirt, but while they do have a very good reputation....
lens within your budget.
