Which Star Alliance airline should I put my miles on?

For me I went with US over United because the transfer rate from SPG is a lot more attractive. That and the ability to use the ANA tool to select seats on Star Alliance members made it the right choice for me. But as others have said, a lot depends on where you fly. source
