My friend and i are talking about the old steam radiaters for hot water heat? I dont think they will work that good and if so would you have to hook them up in a way so water would go threw them top to bottom? He seems to think a pipe in bottom one end...

Does anyone have a good source for finding parts? I have a Trane XE1200 with a blown crankcase heater. I can't find a parts list for my unit aside from the schematics, which I already have.

Do you actually need the heater? I mean, do you live up north where it's sub zero in the winter to the condenser/heat pump by way of breaker, remove the lid and trace back the heater wires to the the contactor the service panels which wires....

Depends on your hot water use.
They are cheaper than keeping the oil fired hot
water boiler on all summer.
That's why 99% of the residential hot water systems in this country are storage
tank.
Or gas supply.
