Animal Farm - At what age do most children/teenagers be able understand it? At what age will most people be able to understand the basic idea behind Animal Farm? Did you have to read it at school? If so, what age were you?

Ok I'm really struggling with this... I'm not sure why, but I can't seem to understand what "Animal Farm" is about. Like it's real meaning and such... Any tips? Please! Thank you!

Then when you read the analogy, it will make more sense .
Animal Farm was meant to be a satire of the Russian revolution, with many of the characters.
