Animal Shelter

I'm involved with cat fostering and I wouldn't think it was odd or bad if someone had applications into other shelters because they wanted to pick the animal who was the best match. I'd think that was a good sign that someone was committed and had done research. source

I try to go once a week to take pictures or pull dogs for rescues and also spend a little time with the dogs so I can pass that info along to people interested in them. We have a set kill day on Fridays due to space so its hard seeing a dog and knowing it may be dead shortly. source

I was just there for a year, it's connected to Panama in the South, and Nicaragua in the the North. Part of central America, like the others said, not an island. As for animal shelters, there are some, though they are few and very far between. Most care that I saw given to strays was from Gringos who just spent their own money to take care of animals that needed help. Costa Rica is the wealthiest country in Central America, though it is still not wealthy enough to make stray animals a priority, sadly. They do not have the money to spend, and they would never get public support to build more shelters, or fund them properly. source

There is a no-kill dog shelter on Canton Road in Marietta. I was really impressed with the kindness of the people who run the place. source
