We went with a roof install on a J-pole and see what I can do about an... .
If I take the top part off and use the new HD Antenna, I should be able to get some channels through the different options of location and antenna style.

Change that to Antenna.
Maybe you have to scan the HD channels from the tunerMy guess is that the software has the incorrect source setting.
TV + antenna you have to do a scan from my TV.

That is all marketing BS to make and hd ....
There is no such thing as a "digital" or "HD" antenna; just TV antennas.
You do realize that the antenna first installed in your condo complex will pick up OTA digital.

Check antennaweb.org and see what channels are in your area, and replace the antenna with the....
Those big ones are VHF.
You need a UHF antenna.
If you have a "humongous" antenna, and your OTA is mostly on UHF now, that is why.
