Anybody watch this? I'm a huge fan of No Reservations, and this is almost as good. I've only seen the LA and London episodes, but Bourdain is Bourdain, I could watch him read a book and be completely enthralled.

I have always enjoyed his writing, but the guy has the propensity to be an over inflated d-bag. I like quite a bit of his views on travel and his influences, but on tv not sure. Kind of a spin off of my other thread, but curious to see what you'all think...

I am trying to do some research about miking on screen talent. For shows like Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations, are the Lavs usually omni or cardioid?
While I am asking, any recommendations on good modestly priced options?

Lectrosonics is a great place to start for a system, IMO I have... .
Omnis are best You probably don't really need rejection of ambient noise, so it is better to have the more consistent pattern of an omni for when the talent moves their head, arms, etc.. .

I <3 Bourdain. Same goes with Zimmern.
Bourdain knows his noms and isn't afraid to call out those who don't. His rants on some of the Food Network's BS are legendary.
I've said this before and I'll say it again: if they ever want to replace Zimmern...

Anthony Boredom is good at what he does, but my minimum daily requirement he is basically repulsive.
As dynamic I just get bored with it.
I wish he were a permanent judge on topchef.
Love Bourdain as well, close to full homo.

Anthony Bourdain is back like you've never seen him before. He is high octane, gritty, caffeinated and traveling with a sense of urgency. Why? Because he has only 24-48 hours to unleash an unpredictable story about a place, a people and their food.
Anthony...
