Yesterday, I attended the MAAC show. It's not normally known for a lot of S&W revolvers from a collecting perspective. There are lots of Winchester rifles, Colt SAA revolvers, and military arms. However, in all fairness, I've gotten some fine revolvers...

I see a lot of flutes for sale with the sounding length given; why?
Also, what is the interest in flutes in keys other than D? I have recordings of Matt Molloy on Bb and Eb flutes, but I wouldn't know if I weren't told. Seems a pointless expense to me...

If your listening to matt molloy and cant tell when hes using a bflat flute than you need to listen harder.
The sounding length is often given with antique sales as it gives a clue of pitch the flute but it is the standard.

The ivory insert is probably the original, but hard at the Manchester branch - so I guess the other flutes previously listed there have either sold.
Boxwood body, the flute becomes vary head heavy.

There's a Richard & George Payne flute on E-bay just now. Cracked barrel, missing block & end ring etc. nothing serious. George Payne worked for Rudall & Rose before going into business for himself.
