As far as I think all Antivirus need updates to tackle new viruses/trojans. If your cousin doesn't have a net connection at home, he can download the manual update file from any Internet Cafe and install in on his PC. Nothing too regular. Once in a month...

All I did was a reset of my iPod.
I had this same problem.
