Just use NSURLConnection.
To do is not halt the execution of your code (Apple won't be happy about it) but rather alert remove the "wait" view and go about with dealing with the response you got.

This is all assuming you're sending for future work, because it's nearer NSXML (the Apple library which doesn't ship for the iphone unfortunately).
