I need to apply for a PIO or an OCI card for my wife depending on which is issued faster. I appreciate this is not an easy question to answer, but what is the general opinion?
Would appreciate any pointers.

You either are eligible for OCI or PIO.
You do not get to chose which you apply for.

I hv applied for my OCI with all docs on 1 March 12
I hv not received any acknowledgement for the receipt from HCI
When i checked my status online on 29 March 12, it shows as ''Scanned'', but since 29 March, the status has not been updated.....

I am on a independant Tier-1 General and can apply the parent the child can....
Is to get a British passport and apply for OCI which is very much cost effective and better in future and my wife and then get OCI for both of them.

Question on OCI and PIO When we had Indian Citizenship, our daughter who was born in US had a PIO card.
We recently got US citizenship and are in the process of applying OCI.
Do I still need to convert my daughter's PIO to OCI ? Can she travel to India...

According to that, your daughter is not eligible for the OCI card as she was not born in India.

Me and my wife are both naturalized US citizens, I was born in India and held an Indian passport previously. My wife was born in Pakistan and as such, held a Pakistani passport which she gave up about 7 years back.

I've read through alot of posts with similar subject to my thread here and got some good info that I can apply to my reasoning. But I was also interested in any specific insight you might want to give on my truck, usage and change intervals.

A UOA the miles you would want to go on an OCI.
It would be putting more soot in the oil, and may limit the miles you would want to go on an OCI.
