Beckslea: Does your appt include an U/S? Most first appointments with a nice, strong hb.
Does your appt include an U/S? Most first appointments are just medical history, bloodwork, etc a information packet on pregnancy.

Since my OB's office tends to be busy though, my RE told me to schedule my appt after our first u/s with them.
My first OB appt was at 10w3d.
Was at 8w6d.
