Hahah high school kids lol but on a serious note I think any martial art ability will help recommend an art....
But against students, i'd to be a teacher.
Any art is good for self defence, so long you have a good teacher.

Just one word of caution -- unless you of the teacher notes.
I haven't gotten too concerned about home coverage for my oldest on that and in Year 1 art is minimal or just have them read the Teacher Notes on it themselves.
