I've searched for this, no luck at all.
Here's what I need. In 1.5, in Article manager, i had the ability to sort articles by section and see every article in that section, no matter what category the article is in.
In 1.6/1.7 i can only sort by category...

Are you talking about on the frontend of the site or in the admin area of Article Manager?
The fix posted in this thread is for the Article Manager in the Admin section Ohhhh really sorry about be required in this case.

How can I change the default sort order in the Article Manager in the Backend? Currently it sorts all articles alphabetically, but I would like to have the default sort order by Date showing the most recent article first.

Can you think of a way to modify it so that by default, it does not show the "Comments the way the... .
You'll see the ordering options in the article manager.
Click on the Blog/Featured Layouts tab.

In Joomla 1.5 article manager the first Column was an article count (#) which we found useful for quick audit counts of articles. This is no longer found in Joomla 2.5. Is there any "option" to turn this on or if not does anyone know how to add this...
