Those laws is committing a religious rebellion.

Religion is believing in a deity, following it. Believing in the supernatural. That is Theism. But people who don't believe in God (or whatever your religion is), Atheists, don't believe in deities, therefore don't fit in the core definition of religion...

At any rate, I don't know how much of this I agree with--or even if I've entirely gleaned his point from this short piece--but I think it's fodder for some fascinating...

Atheism:
Is the idea of the acceptance that there's no god.
(I fall under this category.)
Agnosticism:
The idea of maybe there's a god and maybe there isn't a god.
In other words the idea of "I don't know".
