I've been trying to remove unneeded audio streams from an MKV (Matroska) file. The reason why I want to do this is to avoid having to manually select the wanted stream in Windows Media Player.

streams it either has the audio in 2 different languages and you can choose the language you want by choosing the audio stream or it could have one stream with 2 channel audio and another with 6 techs.

Different audio languages? Try play with vlc and you can switch audio tracks(Under audio-> audio track).

I put multiple audio streams in my videos all the time.
It just means that you can choose between the different audio streams for your video (though or a dub in another language.
