I don't want the dock that is at the bottom of the screen. I don't want to hide it but completely remove it. How can this be done? If not possible, why not?

You cannot disable the dock because it is an integral part of OS X it would be preferable to simply hiding it.
In it auto-magically restarting.

This launchbar commander fits the bill for replacing the slow loading 7stacks taskbar popup menu.

I have set the windows 7 Taskbar to auto-hide however some of the time an application will tell the Taskbar something new is going on. This causes the Taskbar to light up, and block the window underneath until l I give it attention. Is there a registry...

I keep the playlist docked at the left side of the screen, set to "autohide". That makes it possible to have it big enough to see long-ish artist/title lines, it'll stay open when it has focus, and it gets out of the way when it's not needed. Well... ...

It's still an issue that causes problems for me docked/auto hiding applications.
