I have a similar problem (I think) with herbing.
The guild perk earns for you, but my hunch is that it isn't the intended behavior of auto-loot.

The only thing they could do to improve it is if the had magical auto loot like in ForsakenOk, how many times....
And amount of mobs that it can loot so far...I wouldn't expect it to auto & aoe loot huge amounts so far.
