- on advanced page unclick the checkbox "The server requires & SMTP are going to prevent avast from scanning that content as you have secure ports selected (995 & 465) so avast can't redirect....

It is for reason like this why on-demand scanner that avast has no detection....
I don't expect Avast or any other anti-virus to catch everything out there.
Chances are Avast doesn't have a definition for whatever that file is.

I am having an issue in SBS 2003 where Avast is causing the POP3 Connector to freeze when it finds a virus in an email.
The only way to get it to work is to kill the pop3 connector and remove the email from the external web server.
