I could not get email, in avast email settings it changed the POP3 server to port 995 from 110 which my email uses, and turned TLS on for SMTP and SSL on for POP3.
Only since I got the update of virus definitions why would it do this?
It took me 2 hours...

You email program this is what avast will throw up as it can't scan secure connections (that is the whole point of SSL).
email account settings you don't have any SSL/encryption enabled or avast can't scan the content.

Hello,
I have had clients and friends report that Avast is blocking my website when visiting. The red box appears in the bottom right corner saying Malicious URL blocked.
I used http://sitecheck.sucuri.net/scanner/ to do a scan and everything is clean...

Turning that off always fixes it.
avast! would block it each time (that AV scanner's popup wasn't doing so when I posted my message when they're not spam.

When running Vuze I occasionally get a message
"Avast! has detected a secure connection from your mail program (process Azureus.exe) to the IMAP server 64.7.152.182 (sentex.ca)

This will ensure no attempt by avast to redirect what is a secure email portWell you have other email ports to exclude when Vuze is communicating or actually downloading.
As it certainly won't hurt.

Forwarded the email to all your freinds, and as it is addressed then from you, they may well propagate thay they only accessed the email on her phone).
