Help needed with U joints for both YJ (D30) front axle shafts Does anyone in Gilbert, QC, or San Tan have a press or something I could use to remove and replace the u joints in my front axles? I've already pulled the axle shafts out but I'm having trouble...

D30 axle shafts SALE PENDING
I have two sets of D30 axle shafts complete with inners and outers. One has new 5-760 u-joints in them. The other set has 5-760 u-joints with IROs "Almost Alloy" clips welded onto the caps to prevent them from comming out....

Looking at upgrading my D44 axle shatfs.
For the fronts it seems the choice all over the board is the RCV Kit.
But I have been looking around for the rear and I have seen Superior, Alloy USA, Ten Factory etc...
What are you guys running in your rear set...

I did my gear job I decided I would go ahead and sleeve and gusset the front, and upgrade axle shafts up? I know some of you have broken more than a few axle shafts.

I have a 78 F250 SC. The front is a Dana 44 w/open carrier converted to 3-link coil spring and cross over steering. Current tires are 35" duratraks. I may go with 37" later on.
The rear is D60 w/detroit locker.
I am planning on adding a selectable locker...

Were is a good place other than 4wheelparts to buy and upgrade from my beat up cvjoints to ujoint style shafts? Boots are torn and had seen enough offroad lol

Fred, make sure whatever shafts you go with have the 597/760 ujoints TJ stock shafts.
Good price too.
ARB, 27 spline, Yukon Chromoly shafts on the ground.

Upgrading rear axle shafts what is a good upgrade for rear axle shafts? i have a spool in my 3906, with stock motors.
i keep twisting the stock shafts obviously. they last longer when i play in the dirt, but still.
i know metal is the obvious choice, ...

Lots of people spook their maxxs, but you really with heavy oil or puddy will help save your... .
I tried metal with spools even though the shafts held up the pins that hold the hub on didn't, your going to either break the shaft or the spool.

Dana 30 axle shafts. larger 297x ujoints. good splines. front set with 2 stub shafts, LH inner, and RH inner.
i also have tone rings if you have ABS

I narrowed a Dana 44 axle and they a flawless job resplining....
I had dutchman and just tried it and it doesnt work Dutchman in Portland, OR does a great job .
I was told that they can do them for around 60 bucks a shaft, or $100 for a pair.
