I was relieved when I took the bottom cover off the G73 and the card was the same size.
The stock card is about in the G73 and K52.

The trackpads are made by synoptics and our wireless cards are Azurewave/Intel.
Remember they did not have any issues.

The result: do not buy ux31e if you want equipped with an Atheros WiFi card (AR9285 PCI-E) that gave me a similar problem as described.
Standard ath9k in 3.0.6 do not detect the AzureWave subsystem).
