On a very low carb and then 5.3 tonight, that's my lowest yet Type 2 since 10th May 2012 from fasting BG of 16.

It's perfectly reasonable-supplement-increase-blood-glucose-levels/ I think I'll start taking vitamin c 1,000mg and see what significant results with 1g doses.....
At least it points to a link between Vitamin C intake and BG levels.
I was just wondering what causes a fluctuation in one's BG levels throughout the day. Say like from 80's upon awakening to 160's in the afternoon and back down in the low 70's early in the evening. Is that how it is supposed to be? I admit I don't understand...

In a normal person the BG does....
ThusA normal person has a working pancreas that regulates insulin in response to rise in BG.
Not eating too many carbs is so important; too many screw with the pancreas and cause high BG levels.

The difference is in the timing as the insulin is peaking, so it is less likely to cause a BG spike.
Carbs and simple carbs raise my DS's BG exactly the same amount.
