Long story short, I was 23 and financed the BMW. I put a good down payment but since it was my first car financed, it was at 7.9% APR. I have been making extra $50 a month in payment and also paid on time.

If BMW refuses your offer, I suggest you to go to your local credit union.
If BMW doesn't do it, you will certainly find another vendor to do it.
Your car, you should be able to refinance.

Bingo! The time we spent with the financeMaintenance on BMW's is expensive.

Just got my dream car on a lease.

Does anyone know how many months you have to stay w/ BMW NA Bank before you can pay off or refinance w/ a different bank?
The Finance Mgr at my BMW Center stated that I have to make at least 6 payments thru BMW Bank before I can refinance thru a new bank...

There should be a statement that there is no prepayment 3 or 4 payments (I forget which), the dealer gets charged back, which means the Finance Manager has be no pre-paiment penalties in California.....
Take a look at your finance contract.
