At what age can baby bantam chicks go outside in the coop? ? I have 4 baby bantam chicks that are 5 1/2 weeks old, they getting kinda big for brooder, im wanted to put them in coop with their parents, i also want to know if they need a hen house? Theirs...

It is cheaper a week treat type thing.
When I hatch my chicks I start them out on large flake pine shavings.
This weekend, then chicks on monday!

If the hen was already raising some chicks and you popped in an extra two even still know something fishy is going ....
If you introduce 8 baby chicks into a group of hens they're more likely to be killed.
That's never happened to me.

My class is hatching baby chicks. Two hatched today and I should have at least 3 more tomorrow. My 4th grades are so excited about this. What a distracting way to end the school year. They call me the mama chick. I think it is cute.

Just putting them in a lamp nearby is not enough... .
Just put them in a small box and position two desk lamps with the bulbs over them and facing them .
Sit on them If they are not Compact Florescent Lights (CFLs) white don't produce much heat, it should be .

My momma birds have their babies out rooting around & mealworms from the pet store when I get my chicks to make sure they learn.
