I have heard of it, and tried it once but I got a lot of smoke coming out of the oven. Any one have good success at this way of cooking bacon? Do you need a rack in the pan to keep the bacon off the bottom? What is the right temp? Start bacon off in cold...

Saw this on TV and it works pretty good....
Once that bacon starts to get crispy, it will start to burn QUICKLY.
Also don't run the temp too high nor overcook.
Use a rack to get the bacon out of the grease, it works better.
On a cookie sheet.

Most everyone I know just lays the bacon (uncooked) on....
A pound of bacon to be used, I'd fry it first, and set aside much of the drippings, as that might be tooI always fried my bacon first but it is a matter of preference.

What do you people think is the best method? We have been frying it in a pan and also putting aluminum foil on a cookie sheet and baking it. The latter method is my favorite for clean up! I tried smoking it but the darn bacon wouldnt stay lit

I'm still in the skillet, but not without good reason. First I find that bacon seams to cook better for me on a med low setting on the stove. High and fast and it'll be burnt every time. Reason I'm still in the skillet is because during the winter months...
