What is the voltage on the battery at 800rpm? GENERALY: A bad alternator will show slower than normal.
Does this sound like a bad alternator? I checked the battery voltage about a week ago and it checked out.

-loosen lower alternator bolt -unplug alternator and remove grounding wire -remove alternator upper bolt then remove bottom bolt -it will take some elbow grease and finagling to get the alternator....

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's just a hot wire, ground wire and a couple bolts this summer.. .
If it has a bad bearing you should be able the alternator.
Take the belt off and manually spin the alternator.

If you can take off the serp belt and spin the pully by hand if they are really bad and check.
Well if its still charging it doesn't sound like an alternator mabey thetensioner going bad could bad alt bearing.
