I have read many places that you can substitute applesauce for oil in recipes for a healthier choice. Does it work in banana bread?

I wouldn't substitute applesauce in a banana bread recipe as it would ruin banana bread! I would go with substituting half of the fat with applesauce and definitely unsweetened the flavour for....
The applesauce with cinnamon.

I just put my banana bread in my oven, then I started to clean up the mess, when I was putting my baking soda into my pantry, dang.. I remembered that I did not add it in my dry ingredients .. hope it will turn out okay.. fingers crossed..

I hate bananas. Yes, I'm a freak. But I buy them b/c others in my house eat them, until they are deemed "too brown" and won't touch them! I suppose I should be using these for banana bread.

The average banana is 1/3 cup, mashed, so you'd need 1 1/3 cups of mashed banana.

Peanut Butter-....
Recipe was on the box of Bobs Red mill flax hence a little white flour .
She just posted a banana bread recipe today...could easily sub nuts muffin and I did sub banana for the apple last week.
