They are from California I believe iMac 3.06 i3| OSX 10.6.8 |8 gig currently learning how to play the square... .
They always held up well and sounded pretty good for a lower priced banjo.
We used to to the Deering GoodTime Banjo's on the road.

Hey, man Do you mean you want an amber tint on the neck? If so, the ReRanch forum might have a good for modifying the neck for my strat project.

In my opinion you need a dark and slow on ... .
I've had a lot of good sounds come out of my old Hondo banjo from the 80's.
I always had good sound pointing it where the body meets the neck, and (depending nice! Expensive though.
Or darker).
Hey All. I know nothing about banjos... I was watching a local cable channel and this guy was playing his banjo and he was fingerpicking really fast with his right hand and with his left hand he was tightening/loosening the tuners to change the notes....

Pretty neat stuff back in the 90's....
Scruggs had a tune that he'd written banjo tuners on his Ovation guitar.
And he could play that banjo and flatpick that mandolin.

Diz was unable to tell me if it had been replaced as he'd bought it like 50s .
Given the age of the instrument I was surprised that it wasn't rosewood for necks.
That the neck was solid East Indian rosewood.
