A battery holder in the boot can you just not move it? I put the battery in the boot of my Audi just to get the correct size battery to fit the holder.

They are a little spendy but seem to come on sale every year, 05:01 PM CTEK 3300 works great on... .

If you just want to take the battery you may be able that will refurbish batteries - they take your existing unit, open it up and replace the nimh/li-ion cells inside.
Often they are advertised as for parts / repair.

I've seen "new" alkalines perform poorly and installing lithium batteries solved the problem.
Please add that to your question for more specific help! Alkaline batteries may be at issue.
