I've got a Sony Vaio VGN-Z21VN. When I put it into hibernate ( not sleep) the battery drains - after 24 hours or so the battery is dead.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot or fix this?
UPDATE : It turns out that the battery drains even when my Sony Vaio...

Simple electronics....
The computer, there's always a closed circuit somewhere which allows electricity to flow thus draining the battery.
If it does not drain after 24 hours, then it's not really hibernating.
Is a bad battery.

Hi guys, i am having problems with my 07 Escalade ESV. when it sits in the garage for more than 3 days battery is dead. is it my battery or is there a drain somewhere that i would need to look at like the OnStar for example. any help would be appreciated...

If you still have the stock battery you need to change it.
I only battery.
I also installed a second battery.
I had the same problem and I replaced the stock battery.

However, if a memory leak persists, eventually will be killed .
Memory leaks will not cause increased battery usage.

Battery Drain Question
Had a battery parasite drain that read 0.15 (Multimeter) with ignition off, found a start button prob and got it now at 0.05 on multimeter, is 0.5 acceptable or should i look to lower it with some other wiring, battery was draining...

Besides, once it's charged kept my iPod Touch connected all of the time for two years and never had a battery drain problem turn off the car, but the iPod remains....
It would take more than 1000 iPods to drain a car battery.

Rather than having to manually change the settings, is there a little app that will temporarily disable sleep/hibernation so as to drain all the battery?

Normally both these schemes don't allow Standby/Hibernation....
Attached is a small program called PowerMaxTemp, (or PMT for short), that will change the current power scheme to either Always On on XP, (and possibly 2003), or High performance for Vista/7 .
