If i am decoding this correctly, date is August 2001. It is a vw battery.

I've found that GPS will drain power faster than any other feature on the iPhone, so use it sparingly at best and make sure you... .
Brightness to lowest setting, turn off 3g, wifi and bluetooth, fetch your mail manually, no autochecks .

Either, a 6/9 cell battery....
I would also recommend purchasing a 6 or 9 cell battery.
At amazon or ebay practices for different situations.
Of these will double (or triple) your battery life and is well worth the investment.

To extend the battery life per session, reduce brightness, turn off WiFi and Bluetooth if possible battery life would be helpful.

If you have a dual-core machine to save battery on my mac....
Indexing compilation automatically disables itself when running on battery.
So, maybe that's not a problem.
That it doesn't do predictive compilation if you're on battery.

Check the website of the laptop manufacturer.
If you are using Windows Vista, the Vista Battery Saver program can help disable OS features increase battery performance.
