Can you run a motorcycle without a battery? Ive just bought a Yamaha 600 diversion but it has no battery, it runs fine when connects to the car battery but once the jump leads are off it soon cuts out, i suspect this to be the fuel pump not getting power...

I've read so much bad press here about how the OEM batteries on the GTOs weren't very good nor did they last very long. My car still has it's original battery. The car was assembled in March 2006 but wasn't sold and put into real service until February...

If you aren't certain of the origin of your battery and feel it may in fact you anything.
It could be that the battery in the car when you bought it was already replaced by the dealer compartment without notice.
