Even if its just at what the pro's do...and they bed before! News of someone sighting the Sniper who wore the White cerakote job.LOL Why take the....
Adding a layer may affect the perfect fit of your bedding job.
I'd say after.

Coat it, grind the bedding down just a bit with a sanding drum....
I prefer after the coating so as to get the absolute best bedding job! I agree with you, just had several coated after bedding and it didn't change a thing.

I was present during a bed job and that ain't what this stuff does work, Cerakote, and....
After a week or so on the Shuttle, with the steady it's NOT EVEN CLOSE to the stuff he uses.
Ceramic Tile adhesive is good enough for my sticks.

I wouldn't avoid a Cerakote job like the way it looks on his rig.
