Bell Housing Pin Removal I need to take the bell housing off a 1976 165. The manual says "remove cotter pins". How do you remove a pin that is flush with the gimble ring and has no rear access?? Should this pin be sticking out to grab it?

The hinge pin holds the gimble....
Nails bisect the hinge pin.

The "head" of the nail looks "flush"! Turn side of the gimbal ring .

The engine is internaly balanced with a 351m bell housing bolted up and i have the factory 460 starter.
It is because i have a manual bell housing with a automatic flywheel.

I'm not positive because I've never run a GM input shaft .
Not the clutch or bell housing.
More on this once i order the clutch the bell housing cost with my discount it was $563.00 and its nice.

I am changing clutches (again) and would like to hear from those who have notched the bell housing for speed and reference sensors. I'm curious if it makes reassembly easier? I ask because it takes some jockeying to get the bell housing on and in place...

The ability to gap the sensors with the bell housing off you have to navigate around to get the bell housing on-- and I was worried getting the sensors into the notch would be just....
Anything as I lowered the engine in the bay.

To my knowledge the usual bell housing issue is related to incorrectly cured adhesive there?
Also, Iain mentioned to me that he had heard something about the new design bell housing know if he has swapped....

A friend of mine is restoring a bus. Its a 72 I believe with the 3 rib 002 trans. He recently rebuilt the motor but installed a 228mm flywheel/clutch assembly.
From what I am being told is he needs the 091 bell housing!?!?!?
Anybody have one...

It was a direct bolt up for the engine, but the 002 bell housing isn't deep enough.
His with the extra power.
I've heard you can use the 091 bell housing on the 002, but I'm not sure.
And 094 side shift trans.

Guys, your advice please.
My GTR has recently started with the well known dinner-plate rattle from the bell housing, but ONLY when accelerating over rough ground, not all the time.
Is this too early for a successful warranty claim and fix, in your opinions...

Just got mine back from having the bell housing done, and its so smooth and quiet now retaining springs.
Concerned.
