Bell Housing Pin Removal I need to take the bell housing off a 1976 165. The manual says "remove cotter pins". How do you remove a pin that is flush with the gimble ring and has no rear access?? Should this pin be sticking out to grab it?

The hinge pin holds the gimble....
Nails bisect the hinge pin.

The "head" of the nail looks "flush"! Turn side of the gimbal ring .

I'm not positive because I've never run a GM input shaft .

I am changing clutches (again) and would like to hear from those who have notched the bell housing for speed and reference sensors. I'm curious if it makes reassembly easier? I ask because it takes some jockeying to get the bell housing on and in place...

The ability to gap the sensors with the bell housing off you have to navigate around to get the bell housing on-- and I was worried getting the sensors into the notch would be just....
Anything as I lowered the engine in the bay.

The clutch.
The hydrolics, pumped the clutch and fluid started pissing out of the bottom of the bell housing.

It was a direct bolt up for the engine, but the 002 bell housing isn't deep enough.
His with the extra power.
I've heard you can use the 091 bell housing on the 002, but I'm not sure.
And 094 side shift trans.
Guys, your advice please. My GTR has recently started with the well known dinner-plate rattle from the bell housing, but ONLY when accelerating over rough ground, not all the time. Is this too early for a successful warranty claim and fix, in your opinions...

Just got mine back from having the bell housing done, and its so smooth and quiet now retaining springs.
Concerned.
