I'm looking to buying 3 types of cameras:
1) a digital SLR that I can use for more professional type photos

An SLR digital camera as well.
You will get no better quality from them.
The same sensor sizes as compact cameras.

FPS means frames per a toy camera, now you have a real one surely you don't need more than 3 fps anyway?.

I've always hated the fisheye field of view of GoPro and their 170 degree OE lens. Also the bulky box like housing is a pain.
We brought in Replay XD cameras instead. 135 degree field of view. Smaller, better built package, easier to use and feature rich...
