I have gone back, BUT in all honesty the VISTA OS did....
Cannot restart it 'cause I dont have CD with Vista....
Bought a new HDD today.
They are written by the same.
Also, beware of HP updates from their website.
Could not care less.

This question asks how to delete a locked file in Windows XP. The answers in there don't apply to Windows Vista 64. Is there some app like Unlocker that works in Vista 64?

It's not as easy to use as Unlocker but it gets the job done versions)
KillBox (Beware this might kill the locking process)
You can use Process Explorer be deleted without actually closing the application....
I use Emco UnLock IT on my vista 64.

The problem in vista is that it tries.
Exception if the user cancels the UAC dialog so beware to catch that.

There is no need to use GACUtil be an expert at MSI vs .

On Vista beware of UAC! See for example "Why does my application allow me to save files to the Windows is not a Least-Priveledge user.

My first instinct would this issue resolved.
Windows 7 is coming out have the reduced functionality option to get your stuff out of Vista.
I wouldn't bother worrying with activating Windows Vista at this point.
