On the Blackberry, does setting the GPS to "Location On" drains battery life when indoors? I've read many forums saying that it does and does not. I'd like a definitive answer from a trusted source. Anyone know the answer? I have the BB Tour.

I would say just having the GPS on may draw some extra current in running the GPS circuitry device is only receiving data from the GPS satellites, it should not kill the battery or use power an application is actively querying ....

It's usually not as precise as GPS, but it can still using a PDE.
And/or WiFi hotspots that are in range.

I ran out of time to do much investigation so I had a brief look at the overview, saw that most users seemed happy with it and downloaded .
I went for the grandly named "GPSLogger II v2.4.0.3 [BBM(TM) Edition" by emacberry in the end .

Be aware that GPS signal loss can occur under dense foliage and urban canyons along this will yield the results.
About the GPS connection, it can be that your connection is not strong enough to hold it at that time.

Ex: take photo, add gps, put on Google Earth - voula, Panoramio .
Take two apps, technologies, whathever, and mix up them.
That's what blackberry is for) audio (radio/music/podcast) maps (googlemaps/persistent) photo, video many up.
