We waited to see a heartbeat to tell my 3yr old daughter and everyone else that we were pregnant. I had my first appointment yesterday and we saw a heartbeat at 7wks 3 days. I saw a heartbeat with my daughters pregnancies at 6wks both times. I think everyone is just different and the equipment your doctor uses also affects your result. source

Chiming in as someone else who's gone through a miscarriage, don't tell anyone before the 12-week mark who you would feel uncomfortable telling about a miscarriage. It's not fun spreading that word around your work colleagues. source

I would make an appointment to speak to the head of the department right now. That was incredibly inappropriate, on many levels. The department head will protect you from retaliation by the teacher, if they have any sense in their head. source

I'm not completely sure and I don't think I need to know definitively. That being said, I'm inclined to believe that a person's physical experience begins when the heart starts beating. I believe that all potential for life is sacred though. There are a lot of relating doctrines to consider in these beliefs. Where we came from, why we are here and where we are going are all important. Whether there is a loss for a potential life or an actual life, it is still a loss. source

I'm stressing way more this time since I've had 2 losses since having Travis. I'm ready to get the first trimester over with so I can feel less anxious. I don't have too many discomforts at the minutes-the boobs are a little sore, I get a little queasy at times and get tired easily but that's just about it. source
