I'm not entirely sure if this is possible in Ruby, but hopefully there's an easy way to do this. I want to declare a variable and later find out the name of the variable. That is, for this simple snippet:

As mentioned by one answer you can stil place a tag in the data that references where an Array .

In destructors then there wouldn't need to be any cleanup code in a catch block - yet C++ has catch blocks if cleanup code exist in catch blocks, then there's a reasonable need for a finally block construct catch blocks....
