Authentic Bolognese sauce from 80 years ago isn't "authentic" any more, even for Wednesday lunch.

I would make pasta with a bolognese sauce.

Bolognese is a specific type? Sometimes pasta seems to hold in more water than you'd think! As for the sauce, you may want to thicken.
As an FYI, you're making spaghetti with meat sauce, not Bolognese sauce.

I prefer it with just mince, onions and mushrooms (plus the herbs and sauce....

Strictly speaking, bolognese sauce for spaghetti should be a "ragu" that contains beefyou put one on pizza and the other on spaghetti You're probably referring to bolognese spaghetti sauce and the tomato-based pizza base ....

If there is too much sauce for the pasta do as I do, remove some of the sauce in a bowl and leave to the side as you.
Cook the pasta al dente and then toss into the sauce to finish cooking.

Thanks Alex, we do have some brown sauce, thankfully.
Given the small quantity being added it shouldn't be too huge a difference .
Brown sauce would probably be closer in taste, if you have some.
