I think it's rare....
Genes don't just go away so even if it was way, way back you could still end up with a recessive gene .
Like the other poster said it's probably because you got two recessive genes for light colored hair .
I think it is mixed ancestries.

I've been blond for nearly two years now and it's become a part of my overall look. I love it and everyone I meet seems to love it as well.
My question is why there seems to be such a stigma associated with it amongst certain individuals.

Platinum blonde, just like shade of blonde.
However, there are a bazillion shades about any hair colour, IMO, is if it's the right shade for your skin tone .
