In our case, I bf to a year, we had glass ....
In general, plastics degrade over time, so if you had plastic bottles and nipples they should probably be replaced.
They need to be thrown away.
Are not to reuse the nipples or pacis.
We use Playtex Drop-Ins and latex nipples. The packaging said not to put the nipples in the dishwasher, but I do anyway. Why is that? Is it to prevent the latex from breaking down or what? That's what I had thought, but then I wondered if maybe the detergent...

The dishwasher....
I found a bottle he likes the dishwasher can't scrub inside the nipples and get all the filmy milk residue out like a nipple brush can (or my finger).
We are finishing up the last of our liners for the playtex drop ins now .
Weird question I'm sure....but can you use any brand of nipples on any brand of bottle? This is a question that I thought of AFTER my breastfeeding class last night. The lactation consultant said not to use the advent or some other brand ( I have it wrote...

DS has no problem going between breast and bottle I.
So do I.
I wouldn't write them off yet.
Its pretty easy to match as the nipples.
The brand of bottle needs to match the brand of nipples.

At the moment, it's formula, but we want to use BM instead .
We really like Avent newborn....we only give 1 bottle a day, right before bed.
I'm making a list of things I need to get for the baby. I nursed L for 12 months but he always also took bottles of pumped milk. Not regularly but he then took bottles from 12-18 months. DH does not think its necessary to replace the bottles or nipples...

I am reusing the bottles, but replacing the nipples.
I replaced the nipples but only because after a while of no use they got gross (sticky and turned reused the bottles though.
I know I'm going to replace the nipples on ours because I've read that our nipples shouldn't have even lasted THIS long (Drop-Ins). Just a reminder to 2+'ers that you might want to stock up on nipples! (Bottle talk today JUST reminded me of this - Maybe...

Plastics degrade, nipples can start to fall apart/tear and become choking hazards.
We tossed it all after #1 finished with them.
We aren't reusing any of the bottles or nipples for #2.

Probably a really stupid FTM question, that I'm pretty sure I know the answer to, but figured asking can't hurt (unless I get flamed...then it might hurt a little ;) )...Pacifiers and nipples should be thrown away once they've outlived their usefulness...

I know this topic has come up before, but I didn't find the answers I was looking for. If you pumped into the Evenflo glass bottles, and then fed your baby from them, can you tell me: -Do the Medela wide base nipples and their rings fit onto the Evenflo...

I have never used the medela or dr browns nipples, so i cant....
No leaks there either.
I use the rings and nipples that cam with the bottles, they are the slow flow silicone nipples.
Onto the medela parts pefectly - no leaks.

Which ones did you use? We used AVENT bottles with the drop-ins.
Thanks! That's what I was wondering.
It helps keep the preference on the boob.
We used slow flow the entire time.
