I have heard that those horse hair brushes can be quite odorous.
Try white vinegar, or shampoo, Ive never had a badger brush that had any real odoer, i had a boar.

Turkey's leave droppings all year and I'm sure you could probably hear a gobble or two if you were on trails...Best to look for droppings in the thick brush on either side of the trail.
