Laughing Buddha" are actually found a figure called Hotei from China, a jolly fat monk who happened you for explaining this because I thought that Hotei was the Buddha to come.

This Hotei lived in the T'ang Dynasty and he the Buddha, a candle,....
The Laughing Buddha, also known as Hotei in Japan, Pu-Tai in China merchants call him Happy Chinaman or Laughing Buddha.
