So after getting BF3 I want a better card than my GT 240 512MB GDDR5 I currently use.
GT 240 is nice It runs cool passively , has dxva support and all that but I just want a better card. I'm running 1920x1080 btw.

Currently using an XFX 4850 512mb card, which I'm attempting to play BF3 with and it's not exactly the best.
Anyway, if I were to spend £50-60 on a new card, would I see much of an increase in performance? I'm not going to be getting any extra funding...

But it will vary from card to card.
