I am looking for a router that will support 4-5 MLPPP interfaces. I have been using the tomato mlppp patch from fixppp.org which works fine for 2 interfaces. As soon as I try and add a third interface it doesn't seem to work properly with the wrt54g. ...

MLPPP is supported in any Cisco router.
The larger versions have direct ADSL & T1 interfaces (mutiple on the SRX240, albeit well above your budget).
This also supports MLPPP, and is ~$500.

It's out of your budget, but honestly that is a R ALY small budget for trying pay cheque and up it to £350 if that helps? Honestly i haven't used enough low budget 16 channel interfaces to give you ....
And connect via S/PDIF.

Also the zero latency software mixer that comes with these interfaces is very very good! Highly recommend 24 DSP? Both are great interfaces....
If drums are a no, grab any of the focusrite interfaces you listed, they're all kick-arse.
