I am trying, as the title says, to burn MP3 CDs for use in my car. NOT burn MP3s to regular audio CD - there are a ton of apps for that and ...

As far as I'm aware, there's no difference between "Data CD" and "MP3 CD"
I'd (of the difference between the two in iTunes) returned that MP3 CD will only burn MP3 files whereas data CD will ....
Burn it as a Data CD.

What are the advantages of CD burning software over the built in Windows CD Burner? Why would I want to purchase or download burning software when Windows can do it for me?

To my knowledge, Windows built-in CD burning process does (ISO, etc.) Video cd's (VCD's) You have....
You can burn a variety of disk images what you burn can be read back.
There are more features then just simple file cd burning.

I have 12 GB worth of files (mp3) that I want to burn to CD-Rs. Is there software that's smart enough to automatically spread these files across multiple CD-Rs until all files have been burned? I have tried Nero but it said there's not enough free space...

InfraRecorder is a CD/DVD burning solution from mp3, wav, ogg....
Burrrn uses cdrdao.exe for burning.

Hello,
I have a *.mpg file. This file i can play back in VLC player .
I want to burn this mpg file to a DVD, so as to view it on my TV using my DVD player.
If i just burn this mpg file, to a DVD as data dvd, will this serve my purpose?

Second ImgBurn.
It's very similar feature wise of software for burning a music disc, but it isn't that hard to figure out.
IMG burn authors audio CD's

So called "mp3 cd" are standard data cds and nothing else.
This mean you can take ogg, flac, mp3 files , that you have to have a
player which can read it.

Hi guys,
After I burned some MP3 tracks, CDBurnerXP crashes when it returns to the Audio Compilation screen.
I never had this problem before. Maybe it started when I updated to the newest version.
Any idea's?
