About 8 months ago, we found a piglet on the interstate. It is one of those super long confinement type hogs, all pink and a runt since it fell out of a truck. It didn't eat for 24 hours so I got a bottle and that turned out to be the language she spoke...

Hog Hams I shot a 170 pound boar Friday night. We skinned and quartered it. I've got the backstrap, tenderloin and ribs in the freezer. The 2 hams left are too big for my freezer so I want to take it up to a butcher. They probably total about 15-20 pounds...

I continue to shoot hogs in North Florida. Because we only have 100 acres, we typically take the hogs back to camp to clean them rather then field dress them, so it maybe an hour or so after the kill before it is cleaned. Is that a problem?

You might try to use a propane weed burner to singe the hair off followed by a quick shaving with a nice sharp ... .
The biggest issue is cooling the meat down which is much faster when I butcher hogs.
