We don't entertain a lot, maybe once a month or so. We do have China and crystal, but we don't always use it when we entertain (usually only for special occasions or special guests), but we don't have a formal silverware set. I am in love with this set...

We only have one set of silverware, but it is a really match our silverware, but they are very plain and don't compete either.
Like they compete rather than complement.

You should buy at least 18/10 stainless if you want it to last.
IF you Skip ikea...their stuff pits and rusts.
That was over a year ago and I'm still hearing how bad a buy that was from both my Mom and Sister.

Some silverware is stamped out of VERY flimsy metal- you will bend it if you use it- so if you go to cheap, you might as well....
Costco/Sams Club you need to be WAY more specific about what you want, just the silverware set is the way to go.
