Hi.
i want to setup a small data center and i want to buy online some HP servers but i'm really going crazy, when i google "buy hp server" i only find hosting companies, i want to buy REAL deliverable servers, any good website ?

My company (non-profit) is looking to buy used servers rather than leasing them from a vendor or buying new ones.
What are a list of checks / test (memcheck,fsck,etc.) we should run on the equipment before purchasing?

I'm replacing three 7 year old servers with one new one. We are a small k-12 independent school, running AD, exchange, a database, and 3 3rd party apps.
From my research it looks like I can build 2 rackmount servers for about the same cost as 1 rackmount...

For servers that serve only PHP (memcache+mysql) is it better to have fewer big servers (8-core) or more smaller servers (4-core).
